How to write an X bio
- Say what you do in plain words. “Building a payroll app for restaurants” beats “Founder | Builder | Dreamer”, because it tells a stranger what your posts will be about.
- Add one piece of proof. A number, a past employer, a thing you shipped. It answers the silent question “why listen to this person?”.
- Name what you post about. People follow for what they will get next, not for who you are. Two or three topics is plenty.
- Keep one human detail. It is what people remember and what they start a conversation with. One is charming; five is a dating profile.
- Cut the rest. Emoji rows, hashtags, “views my own” and lists of titles take room and add little. Read it out loud: if it sounds like a LinkedIn headline, trim it.

Questions
What makes a good X bio?
It tells a stranger, in one read, what you do and what they’ll get from following you. Specific beats clever: a real project, a real topic, one piece of proof.
How long can an X bio be?
Up to 160 characters. Links in the bio are shortened, and the profile also has separate fields for a website and a location, so you don’t need to spend bio space on either.
Does this tool use AI?
No. It arranges your own answers into common bio shapes, so every word is yours. That’s on purpose: a bio written by a model tends to sound like everyone else’s.
Is what I type saved?
No. It runs in your browser and nothing you type is sent anywhere.
Should I put emoji or hashtags in my bio?
One emoji that means something is fine. Hashtags in a bio rarely help anyone find you and make it harder to read.
Then post like the bio promises
A bio gets someone to follow. Posts keep them. PostInk drafts posts and replies on X in your voice and schedules the ones you approve.
