What a bio for writers and creators has to do
A writer’s bio should read like a sample of the writing. Say what you make and how often, give one reason to trust it (readers, books, years), and let the sentence itself carry your tone. The link should go to the place to subscribe or read, not to a link-in-bio page with twelve buttons.
Once the bio is set, the posts have to match it. The tweet ideas for writers and creators page has prompts and opening lines to start from.
Questions
Should a writer’s X bio mention their newsletter?
Yes, and say what it is about and how often it comes out. “Writer, newsletter” is vague; “A weekly letter about cities, 12k readers” tells people what they would be signing up for.
How long can an X bio be?
Up to 160 characters. Links in the bio are shortened, and the profile also has separate fields for a website and a location, so you don’t need to spend bio space on either.
Does this tool use AI?
No. It arranges your own answers into common bio shapes, so every word is yours. That’s on purpose: a bio written by a model tends to sound like everyone else’s.
